WASHINGTON, DC, June 6, 2016 –The Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GWHCC) celebrated its annual Gala: Honoring Hispanic Businesses in Construction on June 3rd at the Omni Shoreham in Washington, DC. This year the GWHCC recognized five individuals in the construction sector who have excelled in various categories and celebrated its 40th anniversary.

WASHINGTON, DC –The Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GWHCC) will be celebrating its 40th Annual Gala: Honoring Hispanic Businesses in Construction on June 3rd at the Omni Shoreham in Washington, DC. This year the GWHCC will be recognizing five individuals in the construction sector who have excelled in various categories. The Gala Chairs are Edwin Villegas, President & CEO of Winmar Construction Inc. and Carlos Perdomo, CEO of Keystone Plus Construction Corporation. The event’s keynote speaker is David Velazquez, President & CEO of Pepco Holdings.

“This year the Chamber is celebrating its 40th anniversary! This is a significant milestone for us, the GWHCC and its members have come a long way since 1976,” said Angela Franco, President and CEO. “The GWHCC works every day to help businesses move forward and to build sectors that play an essential role within the community.”

Position Description:

The Sydell Group is a New York-based owner and developer of lifestyle-oriented hotels. Sydell’s core expertise is an ability to identify fresh talent within the hotel, food & beverage, and retail communities and align them with best in class development, management and financial discipline in the creation of compelling new business models in lifestyle hotels.

The LINE brand was first introduced in Los Angeles.  The Los Angeles hotel collaborated with re-imagined public spaces and guest rooms designed by Sean Knibb. The hotel is the first to draw inspiration from the distinct Korean culture of its surrounding neighborhood and includes two restaurants by Koreatown’s own Roy Choi (celebrated chef behind Kogi, Chego and A-Frame), nightlife by the Houston brothers (the duo responsible for prominent LA lounges such as La Descarga and Harvard & Stone), and noted art and design shop Poketo.

We are very excited about our second LINE location, The LINE DC, slated to open in 2017. It is a collective effort with local partners. The hotel will draw inspiration from the surrounding Adams Morgan neighborhood - an area long respected for its diversity, rich culture, and personality. In addition to a newly constructed building, the 110-year-old neoclassical church will be restored with the creation of dynamic public spaces serving both neighborhood residents and hotel guests alike. The LINE DC is manned by two chefs at the helm of four distinct food & beverage concepts. Each chef has been supported locally and celebrated nationally with nominations and awards from The James Beard Foundation for their contribution in the kitchen and behind the bar.

Qualifications:

Responsible for the management and direction of the hotel's total room revenue while managing sales activities related to maximizing transient revenue. Implement selling strategies and inventory restrictions that capture the optimal revenue producing business for the hotel.  Manage the Reservations Department, ensuring outstanding customer service, reservation sales process effectiveness, and enforcement of policies. 


Reports to: General Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:

  • To maximize overall room revenue on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis as well as direct yield strategies to achieve or exceed budgeted room revenues and market share penetration goals.
  • Prepare and analyze daily, weekly and monthly segmentation pace reports and set and implement selling strategies based on pace and market conditions.
  • Manage the Reservations Sales Department staff ensuring that proper selling strategies and standard operating procedures are in place and adhered to.
  • Prepare agenda, and lead the weekly Revenue Management Strategy meeting, to include critiques, tracking, competitive analysis and future strategies for all market segments.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales leaders on all matters relating to room revenue, and provide room revenue and occupancy forecasts for operational departments.
  • To assist in creating the Rooms Revenue Budget and Market penetration goals annually.
  • To perform other functions as required and directed.

 

Job Knowledge and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or related fields preferred, and prior experience as Director of Revenue required.
  • Knowledge of the Washington DC hotel market.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. Requires good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to calculate and analyze trends and pace. Ability to work with Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to provide clear and concise data, analyze, instruction and guidance to both internal and external audiences as appropriate.
  • Proficient in Microsoft, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Detailed knowledge of GDS, CRS, and OTA platforms.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time in order to continuously perform the essential job functions.
  • Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per company standards.
