The Chamber Hosts Third Annual Reception with 8(a) Certified
Companies
Bridget
Bean, Director of the Small Business Administration’s Washington
Metropolitan Area District Office, and Rafael Borras, Under Secretary for
Management Department of Homeland Security, were the keynote speakers
at the event on October 19th. The Chamber is very grateful to sponsor
Lanigan, Ryan, Malcolm & Doyle, PC and the government officials who
attended including District of Columbia Councilmember Vincent Orange
(At-Large).

Hispanic Community Welcomes Monsignor John Enzler
GWHCC
partnered with the Spanish Catholic Center to celebrate the appointment of
Msgr. John Enzler as the President and CEO of Catholic Charities of the
Archdiocese of Washington. The Chamber wishes Msgr. Enzler all the best at
this important and influential organization that helps thousands of needy
people every year.

Successful Marketing and Social Media Seminar
The
Marketing and Social Media seminar hosted last October 12th gathered more
than 30 entrepreneurs in Arlington. We would like to thank the presenter
and Chamber member, Carla Briceño, co-founder of Bixal Solutions, Inc for
sharing her expertise.

Verizon Wireless Opens a New Store in DC
Verizon
Wireless inaugurated a new retail store at Union Station with a ribbon
cutting ceremony last month. We would like to congratulate Verizon on their
beautiful new space and we wish them much success at this location.

El Tiempo Latino Receives Outstanding Spanish Language
Newspaper Award
At the
José Martí Awards for Excellence in Publishing, during the 26th Annual
National Association of Hispanic Publications (NAHP) Convention, El Tiempo
Latino received a Gold Award as Outstanding Weekly. GWHCC would like to
congratulate members Zulema Tijero, Advertising Director and Alberto
Avendaño, Publisher of El Tiempo Latino for this award.
