History

Founded in 1976, the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (formerly the Ibero American Chamber) is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization with the mission to promote and facilitate the success of Hispanic and other minority-owned businesses and the communities they serve through networking, outreach, advocacy, and education. GWHCC has been a widely recognized and highly esteemed organization ever since its inception as one of the first Hispanic Chambers of Commerce in the in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. 

For the past thirty years, Hispanic and other minority business owners and entrepreneurs throughout the Washington, DC region have benefited from the following services offered by the Chamber:

The Washington, DC metropolitan area has witnessed a significant increase in the Hispanic population, including its overall purchasing power, and business ownership. Projections indicate that these numbers will continue to rise, further increasing the importance of maintaining a strong GWHCC presence to support this growth.
