Washington, DC September 16, 2013 - It is with deep appreciation that the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GWHCC) announces it has been named the Hispanic Chamber of the Year (Mid-Size) by the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) .
The GWHCC was selected from a pool of chamber candidates representing all areas of the country for its “outstanding leadership, partnerships, and service to the Hispanic community and business community,” according to the USHCC. “The Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce strategically utilizes their location in the nation's capital for their premier Business Expo event - showcasing businesses, participating government agencies, corporations, embassies, non-profits to the local Hispanic business community,” they added.
“The GWHCC accepts this award with honor,” said President and CEO of the Chamber, Angela Franco. “Hispanic and other minority-owned small businesses play an essential role in the success of our local and national economy. We will continue supporting the growth of these businesses within the greater Washington metropolitan area.”

Hispanic Chamber of the Year Awards honor small, medium and large Hispanic chambers of commerce that serve fewer than 249 members, between 250 and 499 members, and more than 500 members, respectively. Additional award recipients include the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, named the Large Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of the Year, and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan St. Louis, named Small Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of the Year.
