The Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GWHCC) is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization with the mission to promote and facilitate the success of Hispanic and other minority-owned businesses and the communities they serve through networking, outreach, advocacy, and education. GWHCC has been a widely recognized and highly esteemed organization ever since its inception as one of the first Latino chambers of commerce in the DC metropolitan area.
Job Description: Author/edit press releases for the Chamber News website column Design event flyers Use web-based application to update GWHCC website and send mass e-mails Assist with other activities including public relations and marketing projects Other project as assigned by the Director of Marketing
Desired background and skills:
Students in business, marketing, or related disciplines are ideal candidates. Excellent written and verbal English language and communication skills; Spanish language skills a plus. Proficient with Microsoft Office suit programs, comfortable with web-based applications, and interested in technology. High-energy level paired with curiosity and keen desire to learn and understand business issues in a dynamic, aggressively-growing organization. Interest in pursuing a career in business practices, marketing, or operations. Self-motivated with high-achiever mentality, entrepreneurial spirit, and leadership skills, decision-making abilities, and strong work ethic. Proactive, positive team player who is adaptable, flexible, and willing to take on new challenges on a continual basis.
