In November 2014, the Chamber launched the "Promoting Trade among the Americas" initiative to promote and encourage the use of existing trade agreements between the U.S. and Latin America. As part of the initiative, the Chamber hosted its first International Symposium on March 25, 2015. GWHCC currently has 25 international members from Latin America.
This event honors Latin American leaders and organizations making a difference in international trade and commercial affairs in the Western Hemisphere. Each fall this dinner brings together ambassadors from Latin America and Caribbean countries, leaders and companies with trade activities between the U.S. and Latin America to continue developing mutual relationships in benefit of the regional economy.
This year we are privileged to have His Excellency José Tomás Pérez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Dominican Republic to the United States of America as Honorary Chair and Jason Marczak, Director at Atlantic Council's Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center, as Keynote Speaker for the evening.
Joined by the Mayor Muriel Bowser and Representatives from the DC Metro Area, GWHCC will lead an exploratory mission to El Salvador to cultivate a Sister City relationship and promote tourism to the District.
